Question:
What are Clearview Towing Mirrors?
Answer:
Clearview Towing Mirrors are a
specifically designed towing mirror designed for Australian
conditions. They are also designed specifically for vehicles
that are used for towing in Australia.

Question:
How do the mirrors work?
Answer:
The
mirrors are full replacement mirrors, in other words, you
remove your current mirror from the car and fit our mirrors
into the same location. The electrics on your mirrors will
work from your existing mirror switch same as your old
mirrors. The top glass in the mirror will operate
electrically and it is flat glass. The bottom mirror is a
manually operated mirror and is a convex glass, it allows
you to see into the lane beside you, removing most of your
blind spots.
When you hook up your caravan you simply
pull outwards on the mirror head and it will slide out
100mil further, allowing you to see down the side of your
van. You are now ready to tow your van. When you arrive at
your holiday destination you simply unhook your van and then
push your mirror back into the closed position.
Question:
What happens when you are driving along
up north and a road train goes past you dragging all that
wind with it, will the mirrors come off or fold back?
Answer:No
the mirrors will NOT fall off and we have had NO reports of
anyone having the mirror blow back on them in the event of a
road train passing them.
Question:
The mirrors look wider than my originals,
how far past the old mirrors do they protrude?
Answer:
Yes our mirrors do sit out wider than
your current mirrors, 4.1/4 inches further. They are
designed that way so that we can get enough slide on the
mirror to be able to reach out past the side of your
caravan.
Question:
Are your mirrors legal being out that
far.
Answer:
Yes they are legal.
Question:
Can the mirrors fold back if I happen to
hit something in a carpark or when traveling?
Answer:
Yes the mirrors will fold back almost
against your car door if they get hit, and they will also
fold forward if someone brushes past them in a car park as
well.

Question:
What if I damage a mirror and I need
spare parts, do you carry spare parts for them?
Answer:
Yes we carry a full compliment of spare
parts, these are listed on our website.
Question:
What cars do the mirrors fit?
Answer:
Toyota Landcrusier 100-105 series and
Nissan Patrols GU models.
Question:
How do they fit onto my car?
Answer:
You remove the current mirror on your car
completely, and bolt our mirror into the same place.
Question:
What if I have no prior experience
mechanically and don’t feel confident enough to start
pulling my car apart?
Answer:
We supply you with a DVD that has
detailed fitting instructions on it. We show you exactly
every step of the process so you will have no problems at
all in the fitting of your new mirrors.
Question:
Will your mirrors fit other cars other
than the 100 series Landcrusier or GU Patrol?
Answer:
Our mirrors are designed to be vehicle
specific, so in other words NO, they won’t fit other model
cars. However on that subject, we are currently working on
the Toyota 200 series Landcrusier mirror and The Toyota
Prado 120 model.
Question:
When will the 200 series be ready for
sale?
Answer:
The 200 series has already been sampled
and we are working on the finer details at present. It’s
slow process, and when we are happy with the final product,
we are sure you will be as well.

Question:
Can I remove the mirrors and refit my old
mirror if I’m not going away on a trip for while or if I
sell the car?
Answer:
Yes you can remove the mirror and refit
your old mirror again without any problems at all.
Question:
What if I still don’t feel confident
after watching your DVD?
Answer:
Any mechanical workshop or auto
electrician can fit the mirrors for you for a small charge.
Question:
Approximately how long will it take me to
fit the mirrors.
Answer:
It should only take approximately 20
minutes a door for a Landcrusier and about 15 minutes for a
Patrol.
Question:
My car is a poverty pack Landcrusier, do
you have a towing mirror to suit my car?
Answer:
Yes we have a mirror that comes with a
manual actuator and is manually operated to adjust the
mirror position, we also have the same for the GU patrol
utes that have no electrics too.
Question:
What happens if I have electric mirrors
on my car.
Answer:
Our mirrors are designed to fit your car
and our electrical connectors are designed to fit directly
back into existing wiring loom, no wires to cut, just unplug
your current wiring connector and plug ours back in. The
operation of your mirror will work as normal.
Question:
What colours do the mirrors come in?
Answer:
The mirrors come in a chrome finish or a
textured black finish.
Question:
Is the chrome mirror more expensive than
the black finish?
Answer:
The price is the same for chrome or
black.

Question:
What is the price of a set of Clearview
Towing Mirrors
Answer:
The mirrors cost between $660.00 inclusive of GST
and
$800.00
inclusive of GST depending on which
model of vehicle.
Question:
Don’t
you think your mirrors are expensive?
Answer:
I don’t think they are expensive at all
when you consider the costs of a replacement on a Toyota or
a Nissan. We have priced mirrors at different outlets being
anywhere from $350.00 to $500.00 a mirror for a genuine
replacement part. I think $660.00 is a fair and reasonable
ask, considering the added bonus of having a slide mirror
and also the convex mirror in one.
